This course has been designed to provide leisure centre staff and management with the knowledge and understanding they need to make their programmes, facilities and activities more inclusive of people with disabilities.
The course can be tailored in content to suit the needs of the leisure centre.

The 6 hour course training is both theoretical and practical in nature with a vast array of interactive exercise which will allow for discussion, brain storming, role playing and scenarios specific to the inclusion of people with disabilities within your leisure centre.
The course will also focus on main barriers to participation of people with disabilities in Leisure centre programmes.
The course will focus on:
Cost: €600 per Course
Numbers: Minimum 12, Maximum 24
Venue Requirements:
Suitable access.
Session 1 – Classroom for presentation including access to a power socket and a suitable screen/ for projection of slides
Session 2 – indoor sports hall/gym/Swimming pool .The more areas that are available the more tailored the training can be made.
CARA is currently finalising dates to pilot the new Xcessible training in centres that took part in the Xcessible Open Day Initiative. We hope that that this exciting new training will be available to all soon!
